2018 Dodgeroos Cap & General Info | ADPL Victoria

Australian Player Cap | 2018:

The Australian Dodgeroos Player Cap has been unveiled for the 2018 ADPL Victoria Conference. The cap has been modified from the 2017 season, with various changes for the new season beginning Saturday, March 3.

  • Maximum of 4 points per Club squad:
    2017 Australian Dodgeroos Members – 1 point
2017 Australian Dodgeroos Player Development Members – 0.5 point
    2016 Australian Dodgeroos Members – 0.5 point
  • Dodgeroos Cap will increase to 4.5 points if a Club registers a minimum of 18 players in their squad (at least 4 players must be first-time registered participants in the ADPL).This initiative encourages Clubs to scout and recruit new talent, aiding the growth of the league, increasing the depth, talent pool, and general development of the competition and players.
  • Players produced by their Club and selected in the Dodgeroos for the first time in 2017, will be worth 0.75 points the following season, if they opt to stay at the same Club when they were selected. However, if this player changes Clubs the following season, he / she will be worth 1 point towards the Dodgeroos Player Cap.EXAMPLE: If a player from Riverstone Raptors is selected in the Australian Dodgeroos for the first time in 2017, he / she will only be worth 0.75 points in 2018 if they opt to stay at the Raptors. If they change Clubs, they will be worth 1 point. This regulation encourages players to stay loyal towards the Club that assisted them in gaining selection to the Dodgeroos, while also assisting Clubs to hold on to talent they help produced.
  • Men’s Division: A maximum of 2.75 points from the Australian Dodgeroos Cap can participate in each Men’s category match.
  • Women’s Division: A maximum of 2.75 points from the Australian Dodgeroos Cap can participate in each Women’s category match.
  • Mixed Division: A maximum of 4 points from the Australian Dodgeroos Cap can participate in each Mixed category match.
Male Capped Players: Maximum of 2.5 points per Mixed category match.
Female Capped Players: Maximum of 2.5 points per Mixed category match.

The 2018 Dodgeroos cap has been designed to give the competition a level playing field, so all Clubs have a realistic opportunity to challenge for a Finals position, and success throughout the season. In doing this, the cap also encourages growth within the league, and rewards loyalty for players wishing to stay with the Club that aided their development in the Dodgeroos set-up.

ADPL To Launch NSW Conference In 2017

Dodgeball Federation Australia is excited to announce the expansion of the Australian Dodgeball Premier League, with the inclusion of a New South Wales conference in 2017.

On the back of the Australian Dodgeroos’ success at the 2015 Asian Championships and 2016 World Cup, the ADPL initially launched its Victorian Conference last year.

Following an outstanding first season, we witnessed a wave of new talent and player depth come through the system. Now, the time is right for NSW to have its own conference, and aid the development and growth of the game across the country.

The ADPL is sanctioned by the World Dodgeball Association and Asian Dodgeball Federation. The competition is an elite pathway for our high performance programs, and is also utilised to scout talent for the Australian Dodgeroos.
